The one where the DJ plays the Macarena unironically. Where there's an awkward 10 second gap between every song. Where the "dance floor" is just the bride and her two mates while everyone else hides at the bar.
Yeah. We've been to those weddings too.
And honestly, that's exactly why Ultimate DJs exists.
It started about 15 years ago when I kept going to weddings and thinking... why does the DJ at every nightclub on a Saturday night absolutely smash it, but the moment you put a DJ behind a booth at a wedding, everything falls apart?
The mixing was off. The song selection was safe. The energy was flat. And the one thing that should've had everyone on their feet all night just… didn't.
I'd spent years playing residencies in clubs around Wollongong and I knew what a packed dancefloor was supposed to look and feel like. The seamless blends. Playing the right track at the right moment. Knowing when to build, when to drop, when to let a song ride. Reading the room so well that you're three songs ahead of the crowd before they even know what they want.
So I thought — why can't weddings have that same energy? Turns out they can. And that's what we've been doing ever since.
We're a small crew of experienced DJs who genuinely live for packed dancefloors. Every single one of us has come from years of club residencies, festival sets, and live mixing. We brought that energy into the wedding space because we believe your wedding night deserves better than a playlist on shuffle and a bloke pressing play.
We read the room. We build energy naturally. We know when to mix in and out. We play the most hype part of the song. And we do it all live, on the fly, because that's what a real DJ does.
No stock playlists.

After 15 years of doing weddings full time, the fire is still there. Every wedding is different, every couple has their own vibe, and getting to create that moment where the whole room erupts on the dancefloor is still the best feeling in the world.

Dan Searle
Founder / DJ / The One Who Started All This
I've been DJing for over 25 years now and honestly I still get the same buzz every time a dancefloor goes off. I've held residencies at pretty much every major venue in Wollongong over the years, and I started what became the now famous Husky Fridays and Saturdays at Huskisson Hotel back in 2015, which I still hold to this day.
I started doing weddings in 2010 and went full time in 2014 when I realised this was what I was meant to be doing. There's something about a wedding dancefloor that just hits different. The energy, the emotion, the moment your song drops and the whole room goes off. I live for that.

Bryan Hill
The Godfather / DJ / Living Legend
Bryan is the real deal. He's been DJing since the mid 80s and there's not a genre, a venue, or a crowd he hasn't conquered. Over the decades he's held residencies across Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, and Wollongong. He's done weddings, festivals, pubs, clubs, corporate events — you name it — and he's been doing it since the early 90s.
Bryan specialises in everything. Seriously. RnB, hip hop, house, 80s, rock, pop — whatever your crowd needs, he reads it and delivers. Every. Single. Time.

Dante Patrick
Resident Young Gun / DJ / Energy Machine
Dante is our youngest DJ and honestly one of the most talented I've ever worked with. He started DJing back in 2016 under my guidance and has absolutely taken off since then. He now holds residencies at Husky Pub, Hotel Illawarra, and The Icon, and has quickly become one of the Illawarra's premium DJs.
He's been doing weddings and private events for the last 10 years and brings this infectious energy that just gets people moving. He knows how to build a room from zero to absolute chaos — in the best possible way.

Luke Savill
Wedding Specialist / DJ / Effects Guru
Luke is our wedding and private event specialist. He's been doing weddings for over 15 years and is one of the most sought after DJs in the region for a reason. His sets are flawless, his music knowledge is ridiculously deep, and he has this ability to make every single person in the room feel like the music was chosen just for them.
But what really sets Luke apart is his expertise with special effects — lighting design, dry ice, sparkulars, the full production. If you want your wedding to feel like an absolute experience, Luke is the one who makes that happen.
